Bolefloor wins the Business Award 2013 in Germany.

This German Prize for  innovative businesses of 2013 that  focuses on "Young Entrepreneurs", the German Baltic Chamber of Commerce wants to recognise and promote young, innovative companies that set new impulses and have great potential for the future, reports BC Kerstin Leisering.

20 companies have applied for the German prize awarded in Estonia 2013. From these, Bolefloor was chosen as the winner. Crucial for the jury was especially the connection between local knowledge and innovative applications of technology applied to the product. Bolefloor produces exclusive flooring and furniture with genuine wood surfaces. The company has taken nature as a model for its products. In collaboration with the Institute of Cybernetics at Tallinn Technical University, the company has developed a completely new manufacturing process: First, the untreated wooden floorboards are scanned. Subsequently, an automated search is carried out to ensure that the pieces fit together properly, in order to maintain the natural lines of the floorboards in the furniture and floors. With its products, Bolefloor has already won many customers all over the world - not only because of the individual appearance of its products, but also because of its environmental awareness. Thanks to this new wood processing technique, the  20 percent of the wood can be saved - compared to traditional production techniques. The company was founded 3 years ago and currently employs 38 people at its premises in Paldiski.

The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros. In addition, the winner - as well as the other five finalists - receive a free membership in the German Chamber of Commerce and the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania (AHK) for one year.

The winner was chosen by a jury composed of representatives of the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Estonian Investment and Development Agency (EAS), the Estonian Chamber of Commerce, the Estonian National Development Fund (NDF) and the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
