Question 1: On which surfaces can Grosfillex PVC cladding be installed?

Answer 1: The substrate must be flat (irregularities no greater than 2 mm), clean and dry. They can be used on wallpaper, ceramics, painted, plastered and coated walls. For uneven or damaged surfaces, it is recommended to install on battens.

Question 2: How are Grosfillex PVC wall coverings fixed to a wall?

Answer 2: They can be fixed with glue, nails, screws or staples. Glue is preferred for its efficiency and speed. The substrate must be flat, dry and clean. Glue can be used directly on the substrate, such as double-sided adhesives or Grosfillex Gx Power glue or similar.

For nails, they should be driven evenly into the tongue of the plank, ensuring that the battens are flat and horizontal. On uneven walls, use treated wood and leave space for ventilation.

For screws, they are placed over the tongue and groove of the cladding, using wooden battens if necessary.

For staples, use stainless steel, ensuring that the battens are flat and horizontal. On uneven walls, use treated wood.

Question 3: How is Grosfillex PVC ceiling cladding installed?

Response 3: The bolt-on method is recommended for installation in ceilings.

Question 4: Which product should I use to renovate a bathroom?

Response 4: Most Grosfillex decorative wall coverings are suitable for bathrooms. For easy installation, use products with a tongue and groove on the side and lay them vertically. Horizontal laying is also possible if the panels have a tongue on the long side. If not, apply silicone on the short side.

Question 5: Is it necessary to seal the joints between the Grosfillex cladding panels?

Response 5: The panels are watertight. In most ranges, the assembled slats are also watertight. For walls exposed to direct water, such as in showers, treat the perimeter with silicone.

Question 6: How are cladding and finishing profiles cut?

Response 6: The panels are easily cut with a cutter or a fine saw. With the cutter, cut the plank flat with the front side up, press and twist to complete the cut. The finishing profiles are cut with a fine saw or pliers.

Question 7: How are walls or ceilings finished?

Answer 7: The finishing profiles are designed for each use: end finishes, internal and external angles, and specific profiles. Please refer to the product sheets for more details. For internal or external angles, cut the back of the plank and give it the desired curvature.

Question 8: Can I attach elements to the wall (ornaments, shelves, etc.)?

Response 8: Yes, you can drill the panel and the wall to place objects. The wall will support the weight of the objects.

Question 9: Can I use the coatings near a heat or light source, up to what temperature?

Response 9: The panels can withstand temperatures from -20 °C to +60 °C. They cannot be used in saunas. Check the temperature before use near heat sources. In rooms with a fireplace, do not use panels closer than 50 cm. The coverings can withstand spotlights (temperature below 60 °C, maximum 50 W bulbs).

Question 10: How is PVC wallcovering cleaned or maintained?

Response 10: Use a soft damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a mild, non-abrasive household product or isopropyl alcohol.

Question 11: Are Grosfillex PVC cladding recyclable?

Answer 11: Yes, to 100%. Can be taken to landfill for plastic separation.

Question 12: What is the price difference between laying PVC cladding and tiles?

Answer 12: Tiles vary in price and style, but are more time-consuming and complex to install. PVC panels are easier to install, which reduces labour costs. We offer a wide selection of tile products.

Question 13: What are the advantages of Grosfillex PVC cladding compared to other cladding (wood, etc.)?

Answer 13: Grosfillex PVC panels are resistant in humid environments, unlike wood, which can warp. They are also more fire resistant than wood or MDF panels.

Question 14: What is staking out?

Response 14: Staking out consists of compiling plans and indications to orientate and plan the laying of tiles, slabs, coverings, etc. It determines the number, location and order of tiles.

Question 15: What does bevelling mean?

Response 15: The bevel is a small surface formed by a flat edge, usually at 45° between two faces at right angles.

Question 16: What is a straight edge or continuous aspect?

Response 16: The plank side has no bevel. When two planks are laid together, the appearance is smooth or continuous.
